More Baby Blake News

Blake Lively is all smiles on the cover of People magazine. She became a mom just last month, but has been primed for the job for years.

“I’m always teasing my sister’s kids that they are my own, and I’m always taking care of other people’s kids,” says the star, who welcomed her first child with husband Ryan Reynolds in December. (At press time the new parents had not yet revealed the baby’s gender or name.)

“Maybe because I didn’t grow up with little siblings, I’ve been making up for lost time. I’ve always felt like a mama.”

Now that she actually is one, “I don’t feel like it’s a massive change. I’ve always wanted a big family, and I understand that feeling when you have your first kid of ‘Let’s really be present in this.’ I do want to just enjoy this moment.”

But? “But I also feel like my first child is going to be the oldest sibling to the next kid, and that may change with each and every year. You don’t just raise your kids, your kids also raise each other – oh my Lord, the things I learned from my brother Eric. He’s influenced my life so much. So I’m looking forward to how one baby influences the other, and to my family as a whole, to every single chapter.”

Co-star and close friend, Amber Tamblyn was one of the last to find out. Tamblyn told People magazine that when she went to visit Lively, she had no idea there would be a baby present. “I went up there and I didn’t know, everybody knew but me, and she does that shit to me,” Tamblyn said. Apparently, Lively texted Tamblyn about new wallpaper that she was anxious for her friend to see. But that wallpaper turned out to be a newborn. “And I went up there, and there was her baby,” Tamblyn said. “That bitch! She tricked me!” Tamblyn joked.

Tamblyn said that all of the “Sisterhood” girls have seen the baby. “I’m very excited for her and Ryan, and to be an auntie,” Tamblyn said. “All of us are godmothers, so we are very happy.”

Blake Lively Tops Forbes’ “30 Under 30”

Blake Lively spent 2014 schooling us all in flawless maternity wear and giving Martha Stewart a run for her money when it comes to craftiness (who can forget that Bey-hive birthday cake she made for Beyonce), so it should come as no surprise to anyone anywhere that the actress’s 2015 is already off to a killer start: Lively, 27, was just named to the top of Forbes’ annual “30 Under 30” entertainment list.

Helping Lively nab the top honors this year was her entrepreneurial work on Preserve, the lifestyle brand she launched this past summer that sells clothes, food, and home goods. Her mantra for success? “I’ll never feel like I arrived,” she told Forbes. “The people I look up to the most are the people that are continuing to up their game.”

Also making this year’s entertainment list was Whiplash writer-director Damien Chazelle (29), Ansel Elgort (20), Broad City’s Ilana Glazer (27), Orphan Black’s Tatiana Maslany (29), Emma Watson (24), Miles Teller (27), and Emma Stone (26). You can see the full entertainment list here, but what you won’t see are any repeats from years past (e.g., no Lena Dunham or Jennifer Lawrence):Forbes implemented a new rule this year that the lists in each category could feature no previous “30 Under 30” honorees.

Moving over to music, Florida Georgia Line’s Tyler Hubbard (27) and Brian Kelley (29) were highlighted for their trailblazing mix of country, electronic, pop, and hip-hop music; along with Iggy Azalea (24), Hozier (24), A$AP Rocky (26), Ed Sheeran (23), Sam Smith (22), Meghan Trainor (21), and Charli XCX (22). New Age of Adaline HQ Promotional Still

We are pleased to share with you the first still for Blakes upcoming film Age of Adaline. (HQ now added) In the film, Blake is going to stay young and beautiful forever. Literally.

The film which is due out April 24th 2015, stars Blake as Adaline, born at the turn of the century and rendered ageless after a mysterious accident in the 1930s. Director Lee Toland Krieger believes Lively, 27, is ideal casting.

“She sort of embodies a woman who is perfect physically, so in that regard, she’s a perfect fit,” says Krieger. “Also, for someone who is 27 years old, she’s wildly sophisticated and seems like an old soul.”

Yet the filmmaker also was compelled by a bigger reason to cast Lively in the leading role, which had Hollywood luminaries such as Katherine Heigl and Natalie Portman attached in various project incarnations. Lively, who is expecting a baby with husband Ryan Reynolds, lobbied for the part with great ideas, says Krieger. Further, Lively has flexed her acting muscles only sparingly, in acclaimed supporting performances such as 2010’s The Town.

“The chance to see Blake carry a movie like this for the first time is really exciting,” says Krieger. “She rises to the occasion.”

Portraying the character through the decades was a well-suited bonus for fashionista Lively. She was able to tap her designer friends for period costumes crafted by Gucci and Dior.

“To put Blake, who would look good in a trash bag, in the great clothing from all of these eras was kind of a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity,” says Krieger.

Of course, being immortal has its severe complications. As Adaline stays forever young, her daughter continues to age and surpasses her. In the present, her daughter is played by 81-year-old Ellen Burstyn. It makes for a jarring juxtaposition.

“It was one of the elements of the film I was most nervous about,” says Krieger. “But you instantly believe them as mother and daughter. I know it sounds a bit crazy.”

With all of her contemporaries, friends and lovers dying off, Adaline becomes a beautiful recluse — afraid of getting hurt by more love and loss. This changes when she meets a charismatic philanthropist (Michiel Huisman) who takes her to his parents’ home (played by Harrison Ford and Kathy Baker) for the weekend.

Although the weekend and the relationship put Adaline’s immortal status in peril, Krieger says there is a positive message.

“It sounds like wish fulfillment to look like Blake Lively forever. But she cannot grow old with anyone,” says Krieger. “In a world consumed with youth and vanity, there’s something very fresh and beautiful about a story focusing on the beauty of growing old.

“I’d like to think you walk away from this thinking love conquers all, even immortality.”

BREAKING NEWS: Blake Lively Expecting Baby With Ryan Reynolds

Blake Lively has revealed that she is expecting her first child with her husband Ryan Reynolds!!! She announced the news on her website, Preserve, alongside a photo of her cradling her small bump. Lively, 27, and Reynolds, 37, met on The Green Lantern in 2010 and married in a small, private ceremony in Charleston, South Carolina in 2011.

The (HQ) photo, taken by the Gossip Girl star’s brother Eric Lively, was accompanied by a statement about family and photos of other pregnant women. It read:

“Preserve at its core is about family. ‘Family’ is the single word our founder, Blake built this home on.

“We have something for men, for women, for the old, but we realised, we don’t have anything for the new.

“With family on our mind, we looked to the origin of it all – to the women in our lives who are right there, at that special moment; at the creation of family.”

The couple have spoken frequently about wanting children and their desire for similarly large families to the ones they grew up in. Blake told Marie Claire magazine: “If I could spit out a litter of kids, I would.”

The Age of Adaline January 23rd 2015

The movie release schedule for 2015 has slowly been coming together and Lionsgate today announced that the Blake Lively Harrison Ford romantic drama The Age of Adaline will open on January 23, 2015.

In The Age of Adaline, Adaline (Blake Lively) ceases to age following an accident one icy night, but keeps her condition a closely guarded secret while embarking on a number of incredible adventures throughout the 20th Century. After years of a solitary life, she finds the love and courage that enable her to fully begin living. Ellen Burstyn, Amanda Crew and Kathy Baker co-star in the Lee Toland Krieger directed film.

Blake turns 27 – Happy Birthday!

Blake Lively was born in Los Angeles on 25 August 1987 to actor father Earnie and his wife Elaine. When she was just 11, the blonde-haired beauty began her acting career appearing in the film Sandman, which was directed by her father.

In 2005 the stunning 5’10” actress got more recognition when she got cast as the role of Bridget in The Sisterhood of the Travelling Pants, which earned her a Teen Choice Award.

It wasn’t until 2007, however, when the fashion queen was cast as the wealthy and gorgeous Serena Van Der Woodsen in the Gossip Girl series – that she became an icon for teen girls all over the world.

Blake Lively covers Marie Claire

Blake Lively covers the September 2014 (20th Anniversary) issue of Marie Claire Magazine.

She talks about food, a lot. She talks about how her husband is her best friend. Her “greatest joy comes from Canada”. She wants to give back to the world. She doesn’t drink. She’s never done drugs. You can watch the behind the scenes video here and read the full interview here.

On her relationship with Ryan Reynolds: “We’ve never gone a week without seeing each other. There’s no major decision that I make without him. The best part is when we turn off our phones and just talk and hang out. He’s my best, best friend. What do you do with your best friend? You do nothing.”

On her past claims of wanting 30 kids of her own: “I gotta get started. If I could spit out a litter of kids, I would.”

On her new venture, Preserve, an immerse lifestyle e-commerce website: “I went straight from high school to Gossip Girl, and both were very structured, scheduled environments, so I never had freedom to explore and carve my own path. When I finished my show, I wanted to take a break from acting and try what I would have tried if I hadn’t acted, and that was this.”

On her involvement in the PBS documentary miniseries A Path Appears: “I don’t pretend to speak for anyone, but my feeling is that the general consensus in the United States is that [sex trafficking] is elective here–that when women are prostituting themselves, it’s their choice. But what you realize when you start talking to these young women is that they’re in emotional chains.”

On Reynolds’ favorite meal: “Honestly, all he wants to eat is hot-fudge sundaes.”
