The Wait is Finally Over: Blake Lively’s Preserve Website is Here!

Blake Lively launched her foray into the online world of cool on Monday promising to be a younger more hip – and slightly less expensive – version of the fellow actress’s long running site Goop. The 26-year-old’s part blog – part store also ended up with a slightly gloopy name, specifically the jelly-inspired title Preserve.

The Gossip Girl star has previously avoided calling the site a lifestyle one, but just like Gwyneth’s, Blake’s offers a host of stories about cool clothes, places, foods and fashion scenes. Cue videos of artsy snippets, stories on tattooed men and organic health remedies and, of course, a store which sells everything from spoons to clothing and hot sauces to lighting options.

The actress has been speaking of the project for months and now it is finally here, Blake was at pains to point out that she is not being a star trying to show people how to live like her, but merely pointing out how people live already.

As the name suggests, while using the modern medium of the internet, she wants her page to harken back to the small batch jam making times of yesteryear including things like preserving and promoting underground designers and produce. Confused? Well that’s alright, so is Blake.

The 26-year-old wife of Ryan Reynolds happily admits in her first Editor’s Letter that this is something of a learning curve for her. She writes: ‘Sitting down to write this editor’s letter has been the hardest thing I’ve done yet on my Preserve journey.

‘I’m more intimidated than I should probably admit. I’m no editor, no artisan, no expert. And certainly no arbiter of what you should buy, wear, or eat.

‘I am hungry, though… not just for enchiladas. I’m hungry for experience.

‘I’m comfortable with the knowledge that I’m not a teacher, but rather, a student. I don’t do any one thing perfectly. I do a lot of things though. Some well, some not-so-well.’
According to Blake, she and her team think of the site not as a lifestyle website but a ‘new street.’

‘A sort of greatest hits of “Main Street, USA”. While the whole world races to keep up with technology, we tighten our laces, join the race, but our end goal is to preserve what’s already there.’

The function of Preserve is part magazine, part e-commerce hub, part philanthropic endeavour and – above all – a place to showcase the power of imagination, ingenuity, quality, and (simply put) people.

‘Preserve is a creative space. An indulgent space. A space for pleasure and fun. But also a space for knowledge. A space that honours both tradition and innovation – a space that honours the future, while having a love affair with the past…’

However, now that they both have lifestyle sites, don’t expect Blake to start a war with Gwyneth. The Gossip Girl star recently name dropped her fellow online retail blogger, telling Vogue she is always in both the actress’s and Martha Stewart’s corner.

Blake said: ‘I’m always the first person to defend Gwyneth Paltrow. Or any woman in a position of power, like Martha Stewart or Oprah, who gets burned. Because they have paved the path for so many other women who are doing something they believe in.’

Blake Lively covers Vogue with Mario Testino shoot

Blake Lively is launching her latest venture, a website called Preserve, with a Vogue cover and feature, as one does. We have added the Vogue cover and some absolutely stunning photos by Mario Testino to the gallery …

Blake Lively brings her unerring eye, Southern roots, and love of storytelling to her latest venture—a Web site called Preserve. Jonathan Van Meter heads West to meet up with the Gossip Girl turned Internet entrepreneur.
Jackson Hole, Wyoming, is one of those startling American places where “purple mountain majesties” becomes gloriously real, no longer a patriotic abstraction from a song learned in grade school. But it is also home to some of the most expensive real estate imaginable—great, logged-up monuments to show-business wealth and fame. Oh, give me a twelve-bedroom, fourteen-bath home, where the buffalo still sort of occasionally roam!

Blake Lively has never been here until today, but when I meet her in the soaring lobby of the Amangani resort one evening in late May she is dressed as if she has taken the landscape into consideration. Not many women can wear denim overalls, strappy Louboutin stilettos, and a Navajo-blanket poncho and get away with it, but Blake Lively can. When I compliment her, she describes the look as “if Sling Blade and Pocahontas had a baby.” Lively has a tendency toward deadpan humor, often delivered with a laconic stare that can make it difficult to figure out whether she is joking or not. “When I say something funny, I don’t laugh,” she says, “so my friends are always like, ‘Hahahahaaaa!’ so people know. When I’m not with them, I always think, This person doesn’t know I’m funny; they just think I’m a jerk.”

Lively, who is back from Cannes, where she was obliged to make appearances as a L’Oréal “ambassador,” as well as stroll the red carpet with her husband, Ryan Reynolds, for the premiere of his film The Captive, is both jet-lagged and feeling unwell. “I ate some mystery meat on the plane, and I feel poisoned,” she says. As we head out to the car that will take us to dinner in town, she says, “Do you mind if I sit in the front? I get motion sickness.” Pause. “God, I’m like a toddler. I hope you have Cheerios in your bag.” And then, once in the car: “Now, to be triply annoying, I have to make a work-related call. I’m so sorry.”

Blakes new website called “Preserve”

Blake Lively fans prepare to get giddy because the lifestyle website that she’s been teasing us with for the last year is finally here. OK, not here at this exact moment but it’s happening very soon… As in next week!
According to the source who also confirmed the launch date, the name of the actress’ secret project will be “Preserve.”

So what can we expect? The insider tells E! News: “Preserve will focus on artisans and products, many hand-made one-of-a-kind items all selected by Blake. Items will be available for purchase through the site. Preserve is all about story-telling through video. Blake will be in some of these videos.”

We can already hear the “eeeps!” of excitement around the globe.

The 26-year-old’s site sounds completely different from the lifestyle brand that Ellen DeGeneres just announced last week. It does, however, also seem like it might share some similarities with Gwyneth Paltrow’s famed Goop blog and Lauren Conrad’s The Little Market. But there’s really no need for further speculation, what with the big reveal almost here and all!

Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants 3?

There are no deals in place with cast, but Alloy Entertainment is hoping the Fab Four will return “The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants” is getting another sequel, as Alloy Entertainment is developing “Sisterhood Everlasting,” which is based on the book of the same title by bestselling author Ann Brashares, the company announced on Wednesday.

While there are no deals in place with the original cast, Blake Lively, Alexis Bledel, America Ferrara and Amber Tamblyn have expressed interest in reprising their roles and are in various stages of discussions to return, an individual familiar with the sequel told TheWrap.

One member of the original “Sisterhood” is set to return, as Ken Kwapis will return to direct from a screenplay by Liz Garcia, who will adapt Brashares’ novel.

“Sisterhood Everlasting” finds that the four friends have grown apart in the ten years since the last film in the franchise, though Tibby tries to bridge the distance by reuniting the girls for a trip that will change their lives forever.

“The Sisterhood series is one of Alloy’s most cherished properties and we are looking forward to continuing its legacy with ‘Sisterhood Everlasting’ nearly a decade after the first film was released,” said Alloy president Leslie Morgenstein, who will produce with Elysa Dutton and Christine Sacani. “The original film brought together an incredible group of talent who we hope to unite for fans once again.”

Along with Alcon Entertainment, Alloy was responsible for the first two “Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants” films that were released in 2005 and 2008.

Barbie: The Movie

Barbie is coming to a screen near you. And not in doll form – this foray into cinema will see a real-life actress (or actor?) bring the famous character to life in a new comedy that Sony Pictures are hoping to begin shooting by the end of the year. So, it got us thinking… who should step into Barbie’s immaculate, high-heeled shoes? Hollywood being Hollywood, there are plenty of glossy blonde actresses available, from Blake Lively and Amanda Seyfried to Dakota Fanning and Margot Robbie.

Or producers could opt for a less glamorous choice, say, Katie Price? Or Paris Hilton?  There’s always original Barbie Girl songstress Lene Nystrøm of Aqua fame, or Moldovian-Ukrainian model Valeria Lukyanova, dubbed “Human Barbie” thanks to her resemblance to the famous figurine. And if casting agents are feeling particularly left-field, they could always consider a bloke for the role. Orlando Bloom’s Legolas certainly had the blonde, flowing locks, or if they’re looking for someone au natural there’s always Chris Hemsworth or, er, Robbie Savage?

Blake Lively in The Age of Adaline

Blake Lively is moving into the movie-star big leagues. The Gossip Girl actress is currently filming scenes for The Age of Adaline which also stars Ellen Burstyn and Harrison Ford.

Lively plays Adaline, a woman who stops aging following an accident. The plot “follows the miraculous life of the 29-year-old title character, who stops aging after recovering from a near-fatal accident. Over the 20th century she embarks on an epic but isolated worldwide journey, keeping her secret, until she meets a man who forever alters her life.”

The role is the actress’s first since the 2012 film Savages. Academy Award-winning Burstyn, 81, will appear as Adaline’s mother. Michiel Huisman — best known for his role on Game of Thrones — also stars in the film, playing Blake Lively’s love interest in the upcoming film. Kathy Baker and Amanda Crew round out the cast.

Lively, 26, and Burstyn were spotted in the Gastown District of Vancouver, Canada late last week having lunch together as they prepared to shoot scenes for the movie scheduled to be released in 2015.

Seems like the Lively-Reynolds household is busy, busy, busy. Blake‘s husband Ryan Reynolds is slated to take on the role of a lawyer in the upcoming film The Woman in Gold with another Academy Award-winner, Helen Mirren.

A Funny Thing Happened On The Way To Cure Parkinson’s Event

Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds hit the red carpet on Saturday evening for the A Funny Thing Happened On The Way To Cure Parkinson’s Event benefiting The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research at The Waldorf Astoria in NYC.

The couple, who recently celebrated their first wedding anniversary, smiled as they posed with Chris Martin, Tracy Pollan and Michael J. Fox. Lively, 26, stunned in a floral print Oscar de la Renta dress while her husband looked dapper in a navy suit.

The actress recently opened up about her high school graduation during an event at the White House on Nov. 8, where she talked to students about the realities of working in the film industry. Lively wasn’t allowed to walk at her graduation because she missed too many days of school while filming “The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants.”

“They didn’t let me do that because they wanted to shut me down,” she told students, per US News (via People). “I thought I tricked them,” she added of landing a role on “Gossip Girl.” “I was excited to get free food on set.”

Blake Lively is the new face of L’Oreal Paris

Blake Lively took the stage in Paris today as L’Oreal announced she will be the newest face —- or “ambassadrice”— for the brand. The 26-year-old was luminous in the off-the-shoulder frock, which featured a pleated full skirt and a chain-lined belt. Check out the photos below…

What’s next for Blake?

Blake Lively is launching her own company, and this time it has nothing to do with acting.

“It’s something that will be launching in a few months and that I’m really, really thrilled about. The main element of it is that it’s about storytelling and it’s about living a very one-of-a-kind, curated life, and how to achieve that. There’s nothing like it out there – it’s without a genre,” Lively told us. “I have so many passions outside of acting and things that I grew up being good at and that I don’t utilise when acting. Acting was something that my family did so I just kind of got into it by default, but there was so much that I cultivated, thinking that I wouldn’t be an actor.”

Lively says that she has had the opportunity to branch out into new projects since she finished filming Gossip Girl just under a year ago, and took part in Gucci’s “amazing” Chime for Change concert this year as well as continuing as the face of the fashion house’s Premiere fragrance. But fans of her work needn’t worry, it certainly isn’t the end of her acting career.

“A lot has changed for me in the last year! I got married, I finished Gossip Girl after six years, I had my first break in a while and I’ve been working on this company… it has been nice to have a separation from my show. The first film I did coming out of Gossip Girl, I wanted it to be different from anything I’ve ever done but also representative of where I want to go, because now I’m in a different place,” she told us.

“When I was doing Gossip Girl, I had these short breaks where I could play a character on weekends, but there’s a movie I’m really excited about that I’ll be doing this winter and one of the most enticing parts of it is that it spans from the 1900s until now. The fashion is amazing, and my character gets to experience all of the different time periods and tell the story through fashion. It’s not a movie about fashion, but it’s an integral part of who she is and the whole story.”

How Blake and Ryan Spent Their Anniversary

Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds celebrated their first year as husband and wife down South where they said “I do.” And Celebuzz has the first pics of Lively taking in the southern charm of Savannah, Georgia while shopping and meeting locals on their wedding anniversary Sept. 9.

The lovebirds stopped by the SCAD Art Store to check out some new art… And even met star struck art student Cody Vesley, who got his birthday wish and announced his excitement on Twitter and Instagram: “Met Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds today. I told my Mom to be cool but she had to get a picture with Blake, and Ryan offered to take the picture. I was literally dying inside for 30 mins. Happy birthday to me!!!” he wrote.
