Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds Spoil “Mum’s” with Gucci and Nobu

The couple are rumoured to have hit a rocky patch in their marriage, with insiders claiming that Gossip Girl beauty Blake is at her wits end over her hubby’s alleged controlling behaviour. However, despite the claims the married couple looked blissfully happy, according to eyewitnesses, as they spent an afternoon together taking their mums on a shopping spree and then a sushi dinner date to plush restaurant Nobu.

“They dined at Nobu in NYC with their mums,” an eyewitness told Life & Style.

“They were so cute!” An onlooker gushed, adding that “each mum was holding a bag from Gucci, like Ryan and Blake had taken them shopping before heading to Nobu.”

Blake has previously spoken about just how important Mother’s Day is to her family, admitting that if she ever missed the occasion, she would have hell to pay for.

“We still celebrate Mother’s Day. It’s like a national holiday in our family, so if I don’t fly home for Mother’s Day, I’m in huge trouble,” the actress admitted.

Despite the happy sighting of the couple, insiders have claimed all is far from well in their marriage and that Ryan has become a control freak, allegedly dictating what 25-year-old Blake wears and halting her work schedule.

“Ryan was very loving and sweet to Blake before they married,” a “friend” told In Touch magazine. “But not long after they said their vows, his demeanor started to change.”

Blake Lively was clearly one of the best dressed on the Met Gala 2013 red carpet fashion. The 25-year-old actress stunned in a one-of-a-kind Gucci Premiere strapless gown that featured structured bodice and jaw dropped tiered black train. This year the theme was PUNK: Chaos to Couture at the Costume Institute Benefit at The Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City on Monday, May 6. Lively pulled it off lovely.

Lucky Magazine Shoot – On Set

Lucky Magazine Shoot – On Set

Blake Lively has been snapped tottering around New York in four staggering outfits for a fashion shoot with Lucky magazine. Along with the hardships of walking in various pairs of heels and different sorts of headwear, Blake had to pose AND look sultry at the same time.

Looking a bit like some kind of very stylish witch, Blake’s first outfit was a slinky black dress with lacing up the neckline, paired with some open-toed knee boots (not sure how we feel) and a big black sunhat. Oh, and a wistful gaze at the pavement, of course.

Next up was a twee looking pencil skirt and jumper combo, teamed with gold jewellery and silver shoes. Her handbag had a gold finish to up the bling-ante a bit, and her hair was left loose and blowing-about-a-bit, which we’re pretty sure is the correct fashion term for this kind of thing.

Our favourite outfit was probably the leggings and jumper look (you know we’re girls of comfort *reaches for another biscuit*). With flats or a pair of bright white Converse this could be an ace casual look, but fluffed up – literally with that handbag – with heels and a hat makes this oh soglam on Miss Lively. Love it.

The final outfit was ATTACK OF THE WHITE – but also a hint of black, which must mean the monochrome trend isn’t going anywhere in a hurry. Silver accessories and a slick of black eyeliner made this more polished than tacky, and they STILL left her princess-hair all long and flowy. Good choice.

Blake Lively talks to Elle Decor about her Kitchen

Blake Lively talks to Elle Decor about her Kitchen

Blake Lively has recently moved homes and is settling into married life with hubby Ryan Reynolds. The actress is featured in the latest issue of ELLE Décor, speaking about her new house.

Describing her new pad, she says: “The location is great. And we loved the kitchen. It’s really the family room.”

She also confesses that she has some competition when it comes to using the oven too. Whilst she says that she uses it the most, she adds “But I’ll have to fight my mom for it. She is an amazing chef. We’ve got a big family, and we’re very close. My brothers are great at the pies and the girls usually do the savory things.”

When it came to the design of her house, she did it herself and trusted her instincts. “You have to go with your instinct. If you don’t try it, you end up doing it later anyway, and then you end up paying to do it twice! There are things that I just have to try. And yes, sometimes it doesn’t work, but I really think you should just do what makes you happy.”

Picking a color was the hardest decision to make though, and while she considered fuchsia and oxblood, she eventually settled on ‘ocean blue’ (a hue that, incidentally, is not listed on the La Cornue website, so may be a custom shade). ‘I wanted something daring but also timeless,’ she explained. ‘I wanted to feel like I could change up other parts of the kitchen and the oven would remain classic.

‘At first I thought a fuchsia or oxblood, but the blue seems like a bold color that’s still grounded, because it has a little bit of a grey undertone.’

Classic it may be, but a blue range is still a bold choice, indicating that Ms Lively is prepared to take the same risks with her home as she is with her fashion choices. ‘You have to go with your instinct,’ she advised. ‘If you don’t try it, you end up doing it later anyway, and then you end up paying to do it twice!  ‘There are things that I just have to try. And yes, sometimes it doesn’t work, but I really think you should just do what makes you happy.’

Berry talks about what inspires her, while Perry and Pinkett Smith praise the impact of social media, and Giannini emphasises the importance of being a role model to future generations.
